Bepanthen Project

This time I have been selected as one of the testers for the Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment project for the Insiders, which helps protect the baby's skin from nappy rash.

In the box there was:

  • 30g tube for me
  • 7 samples of 3.5g samples to give away
  • 7 vouchers which unfortunately have already expired in June 2019

I was really happy to receive the box as my baby started having serious nappy rash. The cream I was using was not working so as soon as I got hold of the box, I started using it.
First of all, they made it simple to open and close the tube one-handed after a nappy change and the baby is getting fussy.
Secondly, I enjoyed the gel-like consistency, which made it easy to spread.
Thirdly, the transparency of the gel as it made the next diaper changes a lot simpler as some creams make it difficult to see whether there is any small amount of poop stuck in a corner.
Fourthly, it seemed like it was working, as the redness seemed to have decreased. I'm writing "seemed" as it hasn't gone away completely.

I am planning to give the samples away to a friend who's soon-to-be mom and my neighbour who still has a small baby.

Olay Whips project

Hi everyone,

I have been selected as one of the Ambassadors for the new Olay Regenerist Whip, an anti-ageing, lightweight and shine-free moisturiser.

As seen from the photo, I received in a fancy black bag:
50 ml of the new Olay Regenerist Whip;
10 samples with £1.50 off coupons for friends and family;
the feedback forms;
and a short guide.

I am really excited to try it as my skin really needs it after this stressful week. My skin used to be dry back home but now that I moved here in the UK, it got oily with large pores. So it became hard to find a mosturizer which mosturized deeply without making my skin oily and shiny.

So, to prep my skin as best as possible, I gently scrubbed it and used a facial mask. I'm ready to see my skin alive and glowing again!

Sleep is eluding me tonight. Sleep is playing hide and seek.

I can't sleep tonight.

All because of thoughts.

Those wispy  memories & worries floating in my brain. Sometimes they whirl around really fast until they become regrets. Little devils. They stimulate my emotional side and zap, that lovely and relaxing sleep is out of my reach. And that's when the whole turmoil begins.

Roll on the right.

Too hot.

Roll on the left.

Now is too cold.

Maybe if I sleep like my usual self, like a drunken starfish....nope, no good.

Sleep is eluding me tonight. Sleep is playing hide and seek.

And all the while my thoughts are swirling faster and faster but with no exit to flush them out.

I can't sleep tonight.

Who In Your Life Are You Under Appreciating? My mom.
What Skill Do You Value Most In Yourself? Talking about food.
What Can You Say Thank You For In This Very Moment? My organization skills.
What Have You Lost and Learned From? to think that it was for the best so that I won't continue regretting.

21 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 9

What Is The Greatest Compliment You've Received or Given? The greatest compliment that I gave and still give is: "You're beautiful". Regardless of age or gender, if I find someone beautiful at that moment, I'll tell them. And I will mean it by smiling both with my lips and eyes. I'm not sure if the people appreciated my compliment or believed it, but I started doing this when I realized that usually adults would tell me I'm beautiful and then later I would discover that I looked like crap. So I decided that I didn't want to become the kind of adult who gave out insincere compliments just to be polite. If I give out a compliment, I want to mean it.

21 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 8

What Do You Know That You Never Want To Forget? As long as you're alive, as long as you breathe, don't give up. This is one of my mantras. I came upon it when I read a book for my french class. It was about this man completely paralysed apart from his left eye (or right eye. I can't remember which of the two). With just one eye blinking, he managed to write a book. Yes, a book about his experience in the hospital lying still in the bed! It may sound boring, but he had wit & humour. It was a very slow process, as his wife had to go through the whole alphabet to compose words. For example, if he wanted the word 'the', his wife would say out loud the alphabet, and when she reached the letters 't' 'h' 'e' respectively, he would blink. Thus, slowly and patiently they managed to write a whole book. When I read the story, I realised that if you don't give up and have a determination to make the best of your situation, then you will have a fulfilling life.

21 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 6+7

Which artist has inspired you? Mucha. Alphonse Mucha.

How have you changed for the better?  I remember when I consciously decided to become more patient. It was in 2009 and Ramadan came once again. As I just read that Ramadan is the best time to create new habits and improve one's character, I thought I should give it a try. I knew I wan't a very patient person, so I thought that I should start that year. I mean, if I managed during Ramadan, then it will be easier to be patient outside of Ramadan.

It. Was. So. Hard.

Especially when you don't drink or eat anything during the day. But somehow I managed. And as I went through various situations throughout the years, which refined my patience skill, I know it has made me a better person.
